Purpose of the Role

To provide operational leadership and professional oversight of the Children Safeguarding Team, ensuring effective, timely, and safe safeguarding interventions. The role involves case supervision, risk management, statutory compliance, and staff development to maintain high-quality outcomes for children and families.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, supervise, and support a team of social workers and practitioners.
Allocate caseloads effectively and monitor team performance and statutory compliance.
Provide reflective supervision, coaching, and professional development for staff.
Oversee the completion of statutory child protection and child-in-need assessments to a high standard.
Manage complex and high-risk cases with professional oversight.
Build and maintain effective relationships with partner agencies including health, education, police, and the voluntary sector.
Monitor team performance using key performance indicators, audits, and compliance checks.
Model high standards of professional practice, ethics, and safeguarding.
