What you will do:
- Chair review meetings for looked-after children, ensuring that their care plans are being effectively implemented and adjusted as needed.
- Liaise with social workers, families, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care for children.
- Monitor the local authority’s performance in fulfilling its duty to looked-after children and escalates issues as necessary.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to social workers regarding complex cases and care plan development.
- Ensure that the voices of children and families are central to the planning and review processes.

Requirements of the Independent Reviewing Officer:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in social work.
- Current registration with Social Work England, maintaining professional standards and practice.
- Significant frontline experience within UK Social Services, operating as a qualified Social Worker and providing high-quality care solutions.
