Senior Social Worker – MASH (Children's Services)
Location: Solihull, West Midlands
Pay Rate: £31.97 PAYE or £42.65 Umbrella per hour
Contract Type: Locum / Temporary
Contract Length: Until 2nd October 2026
Hours: Part-time – 22.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Wednesday, 08:45 – 17:20
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (Office and Home Working)
Seven Resourcing is currently seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join a busy Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) within Children's Services.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced MASH Social Worker, Senior Practitioner, or Children's Social Worker with strong safeguarding expertise and excellent decision-making skills to work within a fast-paced, multi-agency environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in screening referrals, assessing thresholds, and ensuring children and families receive the right support at the right time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Screen and review incoming referrals to determine appropriate levels of intervention and support.
- Apply threshold guidance effectively to ensure timely and proportionate decision-making.
- Undertake risk assessments and analyse complex information from multiple sources.
- Attend and contribute to strategy discussions and multi-agency meetings.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.
- Make timely decisions in line with MASH performance targets and statutory timescales.
- Produce clear, analytical, and high-quality case recordings and reports.
- Share information appropriately in accordance with safeguarding protocols and legislation.
- Support colleagues and contribute to the effective delivery of the MASH service.
- Escalate safeguarding concerns and seek management oversight where required.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work degree or equivalent qualification.
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Significant post-qualifying experience within Children's Social Care.
- Previous experience working within a MASH, Front Door, Assessment, or Safeguarding Team.
- Strong understanding of thresholds, child protection procedures, and safeguarding legislation.
- Experience working within a multi-agency environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong IT skills and experience using electronic case management systems.
Working Arrangements:
- Part-time role working Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
- Hybrid working model with alternating office and home working days.
- Due to the part-time arrangement, this will typically involve two office days one week and one office day the following week.
- Successful candidates will be expected to attend the office full-time during the first two weeks for induction, training, and team integration.
