What you will do:

  • Conduct comprehensive fostering assessments for mainstream foster applicants to ensure the best fit for children in need.
  • Evaluate fostering and special guardianship applications for kinship carers, ensuring thorough and fair assessments.
  • Prepare detailed Court reports and attend Court sessions as needed, providing expert testimony to support each child's welfare.
  • Actively participate in Fostering Panels, contributing your expertise to the decision-making process.
  • Engage in recruitment and marketing strategies to attract and retain exceptional foster carers, addressing sufficiency challenges.
  • Facilitate engaging and informative training sessions for fostering applicants, approved foster carers, and kinship carers.
  • Supervise approved foster carers, providing support and guidance to enable outstanding care.
  • Travel as required to complete assessments, even for families living outside the immediate area.
  • Maintain pace with tight deadlines and adhere to all legislative requirements to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
