What you will do:
- Undertake work with the most challenging cases, delivering exemplary service in line with statutory requirements and departmental priorities.
- Demonstrate effective practice in complex situations, assessing and managing higher levels of risk.
- Manage a more complex caseload, providing opinion, support, and professional wisdom to the organisation and others.
- Model best practice, set expectations for others, and take responsibility for coaching and mentoring student social workers.
- Participate in the management of the duty system as required.
Key accountabilities:
- Support the team to ensure interventions are based on a clear care and support plan, advising on legislative and policy frameworks.
- Oversee holistic assessments, maximising the strengths and support available from wider networks.
- Lead the progression of complex social work cases, representing Ealing professionally in various settings.
- Promote social work through participation in service-related projects and development of new initiatives.
- Provide professional advice and guidance, challenging oppressive or discriminatory systems.
- Demonstrate financial acumen with the ability to authorise and monitor expenditure for best value delivery.
Requirements of the Senior Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work.
- Current Social Work England registration.
- Significant frontline experience in UK Social Services as a qualified Social Worker.
