Purpose of the Job:

As an exemplary practitioner, provide leadership and professional knowledge to colleagues; promote innovation, model, and facilitate reflective practice. Work with Adults and Carers from a person-centred perspective using a strength-based and enabling model. Promote community development and support wherever possible. Develop support plans when appropriate to enable Adults and their Carers to achieve an optimum level of independence, to develop and maintain relationships and be valued members of their community.

What you will do:
- Maintain your professional practice in accordance with regulatory and council expectations.
- Exercise professional judgement to operate autonomously within a legal and ethical framework.
- Lead, supervise, and mentor less experienced social workers, students, and trainee social workers.
- Provide insightful supervision to designated staff, fostering continuous professional development.
- Deputise for the Assistant Team Manager or Team Manager when necessary.
- Inform and guide others in anti-discriminatory practice and actively challenge discrimination.
- Integrate social justice, inclusion, and equality principles into practice.
- Communicate effectively about key legislation affecting Adult Social Care, such as the Care Act, MCA, MHA, and Human Rights.
- Engage with service users and carers to facilitate participatory decision-making.
- Maintain confidentiality and a safe practice environment.
- Be responsible for a specialist area, promoting and practising as a Practice Educator, Best Interest Assessor, or Approved Mental Health Practitioner.
- Represent the Directorate in social work matters, confidently promoting the profession.
- Coordinate with Children's services to address any safeguarding concerns.

Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant frontline experience in Social Services within the UK working as a qualified Social Worker
- Ability to work at the PCF level of an experienced Social Worker and support others in achieving this level
