Main purpose of the job role:

The role involves supporting vulnerable homeless adults with a focus on reducing repeat homelessness. You'll assist service users in developing new skills, knowledge, and confidence to support sustained independent living. A valid driving licence with access to a vehicle for work use is required.

What you will do:

- Conduct outreach throughout the Walsall borough to locate rough sleepers and act upon referrals received by the team.
- Undertake comprehensive risk and needs assessments, creating support and risk management plans tailored to individual needs.
- Design and implement life and social skills programs to help service users improve their life skills, both individually and in group settings.
- Encourage service users to engage with skills development and work opportunities, enhancing their employability and life prospects.
- Support the development of positive family and support networks for service users, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
- Assist in identifying and securing settled accommodation for service users, providing ongoing support to maintain their housing stability.
- Offer regular support sessions, respond effectively to crises, and ensure the safeguarding of service users' welfare.
- Promote active participation of service users in managing their support plans and contributing to service operations.
- Facilitate access to crucial support services and ensure benefit claims are sustained to maximise income for service users.
- Organise and, if necessary, accompany service users to important appointments.
