What you will do:

Manage a complex caseload involving children and young people with disabilities and their families.

Undertake Child and Family Assessments, specialist assessments, and parenting assessments to inform effective planning and intervention.

Complete statutory visits, reviews, and assessments within required timescales and legislative frameworks.

Develop, implement, monitor, and review Child in Need, Child Protection, and Children Looked After plans.

Prepare and present high-quality reports for conferences, court proceedings, reviews, and other statutory forums.

Ensure the voice of the child remains central to all assessments, planning, and interventions.

Promote permanence planning and support positive long-term outcomes for children and young people.

Lead safeguarding interventions and manage complex child protection concerns.

Build effective and meaningful relationships with children, families, carers, and partner agencies.

Work collaboratively within multi-agency networks to improve outcomes and ensure coordinated support.

Provide mentoring, guidance, and practice support to social workers, students, and newly qualified practitioners.

Contribute to service development, quality assurance activities, and reflective practice across the team.

Ensure accurate and timely case recordings in line with statutory requirements, policies, and professional standards.
Person Specification:

Degree or postgraduate qualification in Social Work.

Current Social Work England registration.
-
Evidence of ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care.

Experience working with Children with Disabilities and their families.

Strong knowledge and experience of safeguarding, child protection, and complex case management.

Excellent assessment, analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.

Ability to provide professional leadership, mentoring, and support to colleagues.
