About the Role

Seven Resourcing are currently seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join a busy Children and Young People Social Care Team based in Haverhill, Suffolk.

This role will involve working within a fast-paced frontline service supporting children and families through Child in Need, Child Protection, Looked After Children, Assessment, and Support & Prevention work. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload and undertake statutory assessments and interventions to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

The team primarily works from the Haverhill office due to proximity to local families, although there may also be opportunities to work from other local offices depending on caseload requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake statutory assessments under Section 17 and Section 47.
  • Manage Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) plans.
  • Work with Looked After Children and families requiring support and intervention.
  • Complete assessments and reports within required timescales.
  • Attend child protection conferences, strategy meetings, and court proceedings where required.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case recordings in line with statutory requirements and local policies.
  • Effectively manage a busy caseload within a fast-paced assessment environment.

Applicant Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
  • Proven experience within Children’s Services assessment teams.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance, and child protection procedures.
  • Experience managing CIN, CP, and Looked After Children cases.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred.

Working Arrangements

  • Hybrid working available.
  • 3 days per week office-based.
  • Condensed hours over 4 days will be considered.
