Role Overview
Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Practitioner Social Worker to join a busy Children’s Services team within a local authority setting. This role has been created to support increased demand and ensure high-quality safeguarding practice across complex and high-risk caseloads.
The successful Senior Practitioner Social Worker will provide advanced professional social work expertise, supporting vulnerable children and families while contributing to effective safeguarding decision-making and statutory interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a complex caseload of children and families in line with statutory Social Work responsibilities
- Undertake assessments, care planning, and interventions as a Senior Practitioner Social Worker
- Deliver robust safeguarding practice in accordance with legislation and local procedures
- Support and mentor other Social Workers within the team, promoting good practice standards
- Chair and attend multi-agency meetings including CIN, CP, and LAC reviews
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant Social Work recording and reporting
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to deliver coordinated support plans
- Provide expert Social Work advice on safeguarding and risk management decisions
- Contribute to service improvement and quality assurance activities within Children’s Services
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England (SWE) registration
- Proven experience working as a Social Worker within Children’s Services
- Experience operating at Senior Practitioner or advanced Social Worker level desirable
- Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and statutory Social Work frameworks
- Ability to manage complex and high-risk Social Work caseloads
- Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
