What you will do

• Undertake and oversee Child and Family Assessments, Section 47 enquiries, and safeguarding investigations following statutory guidance.
• Manage a complex caseload involving children in need, child protection plans, pre-proceedings, and care proceedings.
• Provide practice leadership, mentoring, and professional support to Social Workers, Newly Qualified Social Workers, and students.
• Assist the Team Manager with care management responsibilities, risk management, and case decision-making.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in Social Work.
• Successful completion of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) or equivalent post-qualification experience.
• Practice Educator Award or willingness to work toward this qualification is desirable.

Registration & Compliance

• Registered with Social Work England.

Experience

• Significant post-qualifying experience within Children's Social Care.
• Experience managing complex safeguarding and assessment cases.
• Proven involvement in Child Protection Conferences, Public Law Outline processes, and court work.
