What you will do:
- Provide expert technical advice and sign-off on all electrical projects and concerns
- Lead statutory electrical inspections, testing regimes, and remedial work programmes
- Review and approve electrical designs, specifications, reports, and contractor proposals
- Oversee and challenge M&E contractors, ensuring compliance, value for money, and the safe delivery of projects
- Support capital projects, refurbishments, and planned works from an electrical perspective
- Identify and manage electrical risks, producing clear technical reports for senior officers
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards chartership (desirable)
- Strong working knowledge of BS 7671, Electricity at Work Regulations, HTMs, and relevant British Standards
- Proven experience in a local authority, public sector, or complex multi-asset estate environment
- Demonstrable experience leading electrical compliance and contractor performance
- Ability to operate independently and confidently in an interim capacity
