• £40000 to £45000 Per Annum (Depending on experience) 
• Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM (Days)

The Role – Senior Design Engineer

• Leading the design and development of hydraulic systems and steel-fabricated structures for agricultural machinery and equipment
• Producing detailed 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and technical documentation
• Carrying out engineering calculations, validation activities, and hydraulic system sizing
• Supporting prototype builds, testing, and product validation programmes
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, durability, and manufacturability
• Working closely with production teams to ensure a smooth transition from design through to manufacture
• Investigating and resolving technical issues from production, service, and customer feedback
• Liaising with suppliers regarding technical specifications, components, and quality standards
• Ensuring compliance with relevant engineering, safety, and regulatory standards
• Providing technical support and mentorship to junior engineers where required

What our client is looking for in a successful Senior Design Engineer

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline ESSENTIAL
• Significant experience in a senior design engineering role ESSENTIAL
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, including pumps, motors, valves, and circuit design ESSENTIAL
• Experience designing steel fabrications and weldments ESSENTIAL
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software, ideally SolidWorks ESSENTIAL
• Good understanding of fabrication and machining manufacturing processes ESSENTIAL
• Knowledge of electronics and control systems, including sensors and CAN-based systems DESIRABLE
• Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on engineering approach ESSENTIAL
