Senior Design Engineer in Derby, Derbyshire

Senior Design Engineer

Derby – 4 or 5 days per week in the office, potentially 1 day per week from home

Inside IR35 or permanent staff role

Nuclear sector – open to experience from other highly regulated sectors

A Senior Design Engineer is required to work for a large Nuclear company based in Derby on either an inside IR35 contract basis or a permanent staff basis.

This role will be ideal for a candidate with experience in either the Nuclear sector or other highly regulated sectors such as Aerospace/ Defence

Flexibility will be provided with the software experience

Your Missions:

• Design components to customer spec
• Create models and drawings with CAD
• As the Senior Design Engineer, you will research new ideas and methods
• Improve products and processes
• Modify designs for requirements
• Ensure safety compliance
• Find creative solutions
• As the Senior Design Engineer, you will support junior team members
• Present designs to customers

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Senior Design Engineer or similar role
• As the Senior Design Engineer, you will have the ability to work with the Mechanical Engineering Team to realize ideas
• Understanding of safety legislation
• As the Senior Design Engineer, you will have a high degree of knowledge around Design for Manufacture
• Familiarity with 3D CAD systems (Siemens NX or similar) for model and drawing creation
• Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcentre or similar)
• As the Senior Design Engineer, you will have a professional qualification in an engineering related field
