Health And Safety Manager in Plymouth, South West

Overview

We are recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to support major construction and infrastructure projects within a highly regulated environment.

This role will play a pivotal part in fostering a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and industry standards, and providing expert guidance to project teams and senior stakeholders throughout the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations 2015 and health & safety legislation.
• Provide H&S support and guidance to project teams and senior stakeholders.
• Review RAMS, conduct audits, inspections and incident investigations.
• Support contractors and designers in identifying and managing project risks.
• Promote a positive safety culture through training and engagement.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance throughout project delivery.

Essential Experience

• Minimum 10 years' experience in construction, engineering, defence, marine or infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and H&S legislation.
• NEBOSH or equivalent qualification.
• Experience managing audits, incidents, inspections and contractor assurance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

• Nuclear or other highly regulated industry experience.
• IOSH, IIRSM or similar professional membership.
• Defence or major infrastructure project experience.
• Environmental/HSQE knowledge.
