The Role
The successful SENDCO will play a key role in overseeing and developing SEND provision across the school.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and coordinating SEND strategy and provision across the school.
- Working closely with teachers, support staff, parents and external agencies.
- Ensuring EHCP targets and interventions are effectively implemented and reviewed.
- Monitoring student progress and identifying appropriate support strategies.
- Supporting staff with inclusive teaching approaches and SEND best practice.
- Maintaining statutory compliance and accurate SEND documentation.
- Promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are keen to hear from:
- Qualified SENDCOs who hold the NASENCO, NPQ for SENCOs, or an equivalent recognised SENDCO qualification.
- Experienced SENDCOs seeking a rewarding new challenge within a specialist setting.
- Professionals with a strong knowledge of SEND legislation, EHCP processes and inclusive educational practice.
- Individuals passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with additional needs.
- Collaborative and compassionate practitioners who build strong relationships with students, families, colleagues and external professionals.
- Qualified teachers with substantial SEND experience who have already completed their SENDCO qualification and are looking to progress within a leadership role.
