Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant – Manchester

We are looking for a motivated, compassionate Psychology graduate to become part of a dedicated SEND team within a supportive school environment. This role is ideal for graduates aspiring to progress into careers such as Educational Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, SEN Teaching, or Child and Adolescent Mental Health.

About You :

  • A degree in Psychology (or a closely related subject) is essential
  • A genuine interest in supporting children and young people with additional needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive, positive approach
  • A desire to pursue a career in education, psychology, or therapeutic support
  • Must be based in or able to reliably commute to Manchester

You will be supporting pupils who may have needs such as:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
  • Speech, language and communication difficulties

Key Responsibilities :

As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
  • Deliver small-group interventions to support learning and development
  • Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies
  • Support communication, interaction, and social development activities
  • Help create a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and wider support staff

This is a hands-on and highly rewarding role that will give you valuable insight into how children learn, develop, and overcome barriers to learning.
