Shift times:
- 08:00 – 16:30
What you will do:
- Accurately prepare and dispense medications in accordance with the prescriptions and prison policies.
- Manage stock levels efficiently, ensuring all pharmaceuticals are stored correctly and monitored regularly.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals within the prison to deliver patient-centred care and improve inmate health outcomes.
- Provide advice on medication administration and potential side effects to inmates and staff when required.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all health and safety guidelines.
- Participate in audits and inspections to maintain the highest standards of pharmacy practice.
Requirements:
- Must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and hold a relevant qualification in pharmacy.
- Prior experience in a prison setting is required, along with appropriate prison clearance.
- Strong communication and organisational skills are essential for this role.
- MUST already have current prison clearance.
- Accuracy checks: Contributing to the safe dispensing and supply of medications.
- Stock control: Ensuring efficient inventory management to prevent shortages and waste.
- Procurement: Managing the timely and cost-effective acquisition of medications and supplies.
- In-possession medication: Supporting the daily delivery and management of in-possession medication for patients, ensuring continuity of care and compliance. Smartcard & SysOne Knowledge required
