Leisure Operations Manager – Premium Leisure & Golf Environment
Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000
This senior operations role carries full accountability for departmental performance, encompassing both operational standards and financial success. The position involves close collaboration with the senior leadership team to drive strategic projects, enhance revenue streams, and uphold exceptional service standards across all leisure and golf facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of departmental revenue, margin, and overall financial performance.
- Maximise utilisation across tee sheets, coaching schedules, retail, and leisure operations to optimise yield and member satisfaction.
- Monitor key performance indicators, addressing underperformance decisively to achieve commercial goals.
- Maintain disciplined control over staffing, stock, and operating costs to protect profitability.
- Provide confident leadership to ensure consistent operational standards across all leisure and golf services.
- Maintain presentation and service quality in line with mystery shopper benchmarks and internal brand audits.
- Actively engage on-site, particularly during peak periods and events, ensuring visibility and operational integrity.
- Oversee adherence to company systems and data procedures with precision and accuracy.
- Continually refine operating procedures to elevate member and guest experience.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a multi-disciplinary team with clear expectations and accountability.
- Oversee workforce planning to balance outstanding service delivery with efficient operation.
- Champion a proactive approach to recruitment, training, and professional development.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, mentoring, and skill progression initiatives.
- Foster a high-performance culture built on professionalism, ownership, and commercial awareness.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven operational leader within a premium leisure, golf, or hospitality environment managing a turnover of £5M+ annually.
- Demonstrated success in driving both financial and operational performance.
- Strong commercial insight with the ability to make confident, data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Inspirational leadership style with a visible, hands-on approach.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and strategic planning abilities.
