Job Overview
Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join a healthcare service in Leamington Spa. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HCA with an interest in phlebotomy, with phlebotomy training required as part of the role.
You will support patients with a range of clinical and healthcare needs, working as part of a professional team to ensure patients receive safe, compassionate and effective care.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine healthcare assistant duties in line with clinical procedures and service requirements.
- Undertake venepuncture and blood sample collection following appropriate training.
- Support with patient observations and basic clinical assessments where required.
- Prepare patients for clinical procedures and provide reassurance throughout their appointment.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times.
- Ensure clinical areas and equipment are clean, safe and appropriately maintained.
- Work collaboratively with nurses, clinicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Escalate any concerns regarding patients' health or wellbeing appropriately.
- Maintain high standards of patient care, dignity and confidentiality.
About You
The successful Healthcare Assistant will ideally have previous experience working within a healthcare, clinical or community setting and be confident working directly with patients.
You should have:
- Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Healthcare Support Worker or similar.
- A caring, professional and patient-focused approach.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
- A willingness to complete or undertake phlebotomy training.
- The ability to follow clinical policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements.
