What you will do

• Provide leadership and management to Team Managers and service leads within Children’s Social Care.

• Translate strategic priorities into effective operational delivery across service areas.

• Ensure compliance with statutory duties, council policies, and regulatory requirements.

• Lead service improvement initiatives and oversee robust quality assurance processes.

• Act as a senior decision-maker in complex safeguarding and child protection matters.

• Support, supervise, and develop Team Managers through coaching, performance management, and reflective supervision.

• Build and maintain strong multi-agency partnerships, representing the council at strategic forums and meetings.

• Oversee budgets, financial planning, and resource allocation to ensure efficient service delivery.

• Play a key role in inspection readiness, governance, and continuous improvement activity.
