A high-achieving, inclusive secondary school in Barnet is seeking a motivated and academically strong Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

The Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support learning across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will play a key role in helping students make strong academic progress while contributing to a positive and focused classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of lessons across core subjects: English, Maths, and Science.
- Provide targeted 1:1 and small group interventions to raise attainment.
- Assist with lesson preparation, classroom resources, and learning activities.
- Support positive behaviour management in line with school policies.
- Track student engagement and contribute to progress monitoring.
- Encourage confidence, independence, and positive learning habits.
- Support students of varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs.
Candidate Requirements
- A degree 2:1 or above (or due to graduate by September 2026) in a relevant core subject or related discipline.
- Strong academic background in English, Maths, or Science is highly desirable.
- A genuine interest in education and working with young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, resilient, and adaptable approach to working in a school environment.
- Experience in tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or youth work is beneficial but not essential.
