Are you a recent STEM graduate looking to gain valuable experience in a secondary school before pursuing a career in teaching or education?

A welcoming secondary school in Leicester (LE2) is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated support team.

The Role

As a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support students across KS3 and KS4 with Maths, Science and STEM-related subjects.
Provide 1:1 and small-group academic support.
Assist teachers during lessons and help students engage with challenging topics.
Support students who require additional academic or learning support.
Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
Encourage students to develop their confidence, problem-solving and analytical skills.
Work alongside experienced teachers and gain valuable classroom experience.

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a graduate who:

Holds a 2:1 or above degree in a STEM subject, such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or Computer Science.
Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Is passionate about supporting young people.
Can explain complex concepts clearly and patiently.
Is enthusiastic, reliable and committed to education.
Has an interest in pursuing a career in teaching or education.

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
