Graduate Behaviour Mentor — Interviewing Now for September | Leeds Secondary, Specialist & Primary Schools | Full-time
Are you a Psychology graduate with a genuine passion for supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have experience in mentoring, coaching, or youth work — and the resilience and empathy to build meaningful relationships with vulnerable pupils?
Highly-regarded schools across Leeds are recruiting exceptional Graduate Behaviour Mentors ahead of a September 2026 start. These are full-time, long-term roles ideal for graduates exploring careers in Educational Psychology, SEN Teaching, Youth Work, or Mental Health Support.
The Role
Working 1:1 and in small groups across primary, secondary, and specialist settings, you'll support pupils with a diverse range of SEMH needs — including anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and challenging behaviours. Your focus will be on building trust, promoting self-regulation, and creating a nurturing environment where every student feels safe enough to learn and grow.
This is a hands-on, rewarding role that demands emotional intelligence, calm under pressure, and the confidence to de-escalate difficult situations while championing the needs of some of the most vulnerable young people in school.
What's on Offer
- Up to £560 per week
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, long-term placement from September 2025
- Based across well-resourced secondary, specialist, and primary schools throughout Leeds
- Comprehensive training and ongoing CPD delivered by experienced inclusion specialists
- Dedicated mentorship and a genuinely supportive team environment
- All schools are well connected to Leeds city centre by public transport
- Excellent groundwork for careers in Educational Psychology, SEN, or mental health
Who We're Looking For
- A 2:1 degree or above in Psychology or a related discipline (preferred but not essential)
- Experience working with children or young people in any capacity — coaching, mentoring, care, or youth work
- Calm, confident, and professional when navigating challenging situations
- A strong communicator with natural empathy and genuine commitment to making a difference
- Must have the right to work in the UK — unfortunately visa sponsorship is not available
