Hands-on fibre installation role delivering real customer impact in the field

Our Client has a requirement for an FTTP Installation Engineer, who will be required to work on a temporary contract basis in Irlam (field-based role).

Role Purpose

  • Deploy fibre installation services within customer premises, delivering a best-in-class service for residential and business customers
  • Report directly to the Operations Manager, supporting the business vision through a friendly, personable approach
  • Help redefine customer experience within the telecoms industry by delivering a high-quality, professional service

Job Role Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, test and install both legacy and new fibre networks
  • Liaise with the City team to ensure a seamless experience for internal and external customers
  • Carry out site operations to a high standard within contractual specification and relevant quality, health, safety, environmental and NRSWA regulations
  • Complete and check all customer documentation in line with client requirements
  • Install, test and splice fibre optic cables within existing infrastructure
  • Ensure all site-specific risk assessments are in place

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications

  • Previous experience in fibre optic installation, OTDR, OILM testing and splicing
  • OSP Telecoms FTTP build experience
  • Understanding of the New Roads and Works Act (1991) – NRSWA
  • Working knowledge of CDM
  • Fibre optic splicing and OTDR / IM testing principles and experience
  • Experience with blown and traditional cable installation techniques
  • Understanding of method statements and risk assessments
  • Experience managing contracted engineering construction works
