Family Help Senior Practitioner Social Worker

Sanctuary Personnel is currently recruiting for an experienced Family Help Senior Practitioner Social Worker to join a dedicated Family Help team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled children's social worker looking to take on a senior practitioner role, supporting vulnerable children, young people, and families while helping to drive high-quality practice across the service.

Key Responsibilities of the Social Worker:
- Manage a complex caseload of children and families requiring early help and statutory intervention.
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of need, risk, and safeguarding concerns.
- Develop, implement, and review child-centred care and support plans.
- Lead on complex casework while providing guidance and mentoring to less experienced social workers.
- Work collaboratively with schools, health professionals, police, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
- Chair meetings and contribute to multi-agency planning and decision-making.
- Prepare high-quality reports, assessments, and court documentation where required.
- Ensure all practice complies with current legislation, statutory guidance, and safeguarding procedures.
- Promote positive outcomes by building effective relationships with children, families, and partner organisations.
Applicant Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Significant post-qualified experience within Children's Services.
- Previous experience working within Family Help, Early Help, Child in Need, Child Protection, or Safeguarding teams.
- Strong assessment, risk management, and case management skills.
- Excellent communication, report writing, and multi-agency working abilities.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.
