What you will do:

  • Uphold professional standards as defined by the British Psychological Society and the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Deliver Educational Psychology Service work for identified settings and learners, including those off-island.
  • Apply psychological theory and research to reduce barriers to learning and strengthen resilience in children and families.
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships between children, families, and educational professionals.
  • Provide expert advice for vulnerable groups and complex cases, including statutory assessments and annual reviews.
  • Support schools in developing innovative strategies to improve teaching, behaviour, and attendance.
  • Deliver psychological input for needs assessments and complex reviews in line with legislation.
  • Provide consultation and support to parents and carers to improve outcomes for learners.
  • Deliver training to build capacity within educational settings.
  • Support critical incident and trauma response in schools when required.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete necessary administrative duties.
  • Stay updated with policy and legislative changes to ensure best practice.
  • Supervise and support assistant or trainee educational psychologists when required.
