The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our team and lead the delivery of a major water infrastructure project across London and Guildford.
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven Construction Manager to take full ownership of construction operations on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on programme, and within budget. You will play a critical leadership role in driving performance, quality, sustainability, and innovation across the supply chain.

Role Purpose
The Construction Manager will lead and manage construction delivery teams across designated project portfolios. You will hold full responsibility for Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability compliance, while ensuring contractual obligations, programme milestones, and commercial controls are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
Construction & Project Delivery
- Lead site construction teams to deliver works within agreed timeframes and budgets
- Chair construction kick-off meetings and conduct regular project health checks
- Ensure all construction activities meet contractual and technical requirements
- Drive programme adherence and proactively resolve delivery risks
Health, Safety, Environment & Sustainability
- Take full accountability for H&S compliance across all construction activities
- Promote a strong behavioural safety culture on site
- Ensure full compliance with CDM regulations and all relevant legislation
- Champion sustainability initiatives including zero-waste and embodied carbon reduction
Supply Chain & Quality Management
- Monitor and manage supplier performance across Safety, Time, and Quality
- Review and approve RAMS ensuring suitability and compliance
- Lead Constructability Reviews and Fit for Assembly sign-off processes
- Maintain high-quality standards and continuous improvement practices
Commercial & Programme Oversight
- Ensure timely and accurate contractual notifications
- Monitor programme performance and implement corrective actions
- Support resource planning including labour, plant, and materials
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Construction Manager on strategic planning
Leadership & Innovation
- Motivate and manage multi-disciplinary teams
- Drive innovation and promote standardised construction techniques
- Support a high-performance culture across site operations
Essential Skills & Experience
Qualifications
- Degree (or equivalent) in a construction-related discipline
- Temporary Works experience and/or qualification
- APMP or equivalent project management qualification
Experience
- Proven track record delivering large-scale infrastructure projects
- Strong experience within water and/or wastewater treatment
- Demonstrable leadership of multi-disciplinary construction teams
- Experience managing complex construction programmes
Knowledge & Competencies
- Strong working knowledge of CDM regulations and construction H&S
- Commercially astute with contractual management experience
- Delivery-focused with the ability to achieve performance targets
- Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills
- Strategic, operational, technical, and managerial capability
