Civil Structural Engineer in Middlesbrough, North East

Our client, has a requirement for a Senior Civil & Structural Design Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Middlesbrough

Role Purpose:

To provide Senior Civil and Structural (Design) Engineering services, delivering high-quality design outputs for industrial projects, liaising with multi-disciplinary teams, clients, and consultants, and ensuring compliance with UK standards and project requirements.

Job Role Responsibilities:

• Civil and Structural design engineering for industrial projects
• Development of Civil and Structural specifications, reports, and calculations
• Preparation and authoring of technical reports and specifications
• Checking, approval, and verification of steelwork and foundation calculations
• Development of grading plans, cable ducts, drainage routes, hardstanding, and trenches
• Preparation of scopes of work and Bills of Quantities (BOQ)
• Liaison with multi-disciplinary design teams, clients, and architectural consultants
• Conduct site surveys and client visits as required

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

• Chartered status with a relevant UK professional body
• HND or higher in Civil & Structural Engineering
• Proven design experience in Chemical Plant, Industrial, Petrochemical, or Pharmaceutical buildings
• Hands-on experience on Industrial / Petro / Chemical / Pharmaceutical projects
• Proficiency in 3D Tekla Structures, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD Advance Steel, or 3D AutoCAD (advantageous)
• Familiarity with Navisworks and 3D point cloud survey techniques (advantageous)
• Experience liaising with building control and compliance standards
• Knowledge of infrastructure adoptable standards
• Experience working with internal multi-disciplinary design teams and wider client teams
