Key Responsibilities

Care Management: Lead the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of care plans for patients within the Prison Community Team.
Team Leadership: Supervise and support a multi-disciplinary staff team, ensuring regular supervision, appraisals, and personal development plans.
Clinical & Managerial Role: Act as a clinical role model, maintaining high standards of practice across clinical and managerial responsibilities.
Caseload Management: Oversee safe care planning under mental health legislation, CPA, and safeguarding frameworks.
Clinical Governance & Quality: Participate in clinical audits, care quality initiatives, and healthcare management meetings to improve service delivery.
Collaboration: Work effectively with internal and external agencies, including primary care, prison staff, addictions teams, courts, police, and probation services.
Record-Keeping: Ensure accurate clinical records are maintained in systems such as SystmOne and cNOMIS in compliance with Trust and NMC standards.
Deputising: Step in for the Mental Health Service Manager when required.

Essential Requirements

NMC Registration as a Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
Strong experience in leadership and supervisory roles.
Minimum 5 years working with acute/vulnerable mental health service users.
Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams.
Excellent communication, risk assessment, and clinical decision-making skills.
Ability to work effectively in a secure prison environment.
Enhanced Prison Clearance (or willingness to undergo the process).
