What you will do
• Specialist Physiotherapy: Provide a highly specialist physiotherapy service to children and young people aged 0-19 with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
• Community-Based Support: Deliver therapy services to children and young people who do not currently have an educational placement.
• DCD Service Coordination: Lead the coordination of the Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) service, supporting colleagues and contributing to service development.
• Multidisciplinary Working: Work closely with Occupational Therapists and other professionals to provide assessment and treatment programmes.
• Assessment and Treatment: Undertake comprehensive assessments and develop evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
• Care Planning: Independently implement, monitor, and review physiotherapy interventions to achieve positive outcomes.
• Clinical Leadership: Provide specialist advice and support to colleagues, families, carers, and partner agencies.
• Record Keeping: Maintain high-quality clinical records, reports, and documentation in accordance with professional standards.
• Professional Development: Keep clinical knowledge and skills up to date through continuing professional development activities.
Qualifications / Requirements
• Physiotherapy Qualification: Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Registration: Current HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist.
• Paediatric Experience: Significant experience working with children and young people, particularly those with complex needs and disabilities.
• Leadership Experience: Experience coordinating services, supporting colleagues, or leading aspects of clinical practice.
• Assessment Skills: Strong assessment, treatment planning, and clinical reasoning skills within paediatric physiotherapy.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and independently manage a specialist caseload.
• Professional Knowledge: Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
