This ongoing role offers full-time and flexible scheduling options. Earn £26.00 per hour while playing a vital part in collecting blood from volunteers for essential testing. Locations include Newport, Penarth, and Chepstow, with specific induction dates required for each site. What you will do:

  • Lead a team of Healthcare Assistants performing daily phlebotomy tasks.
  • Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to and maintained throughout shifts.
  • Take responsibility for the smooth operation of the clinic, ensuring staff are wearing the correct Personal Protective Equipment and following protocols.
  • Manage the ordering and escalation of stock levels, coordinating with Service Managers.
  • Report all incidents through the appropriate channels and act as the Point of Contact for operational and clinical issues.
  • Confidently perform venepuncture and manage any failed blood draw attempts.
  • Maintain the unit to acceptable clinical standards by conducting daily audits.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership qualities to guide and support the team effectively.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Current venepuncture, cannulation, or blood drawing certificate.
  • DBS certificate.
  • A manual driving licence is required for the Chepstow location.

Shift Pattern:

  • Monday to Friday: 07:50 – 18:10
  • Sunday: 10:50 – 15:55
  • Saturday: Shifts may be introduced as the project develops.
