Area Manager in Oxfordshire, South East

Area Manager – Cleaning Services – Basingstoke, Reading & Oxford – Up to £38,000 + package

A well-established service provider is looking to appoint a hands-on Area Manager to oversee a mixed portfolio os18 cleaning contracts across Basingstoke, Reading & Oxford.

This role would suit someone looking to take the next step in their career, multisite experience is key. A good understanding of service delivery, and the ability to maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading teams, driving performance, maintaining compliance, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the operation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day delivery of cleaning services on site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standard
• Lead, support, and motivate the cleaning team, maintaining accountability, engagement, and consistent performance across the operation
• Plan rotas, allocate duties, and manage absence cover to ensure the site remains fully resourced and service levels are maintained
• Carry out regular inspections, audits, and quality checks, taking corrective action where standards fall below expectation
• Monitor service delivery against agreed standards, schedules, KPIs, and client expectations, ensuring continuous improvement where needed
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, hygiene standards, COSHH requirements, and safe working practices
• Build strong working relationships with on-site stakeholders, maintaining clear communication and a professional approach at all times
• Manage stock, equipment, and general cleaning resources effectively, ensuring availability, proper usage, and cost control

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Cleaning Manager, Cleaning Supervisor, Site Manager, Area Manager, Facilities Manager, or similar operational leadership role
• Strong people management experience, with the ability to lead teams, manage performance, and maintain high service standards
• Good understanding of health and safety, hygiene standards, compliance, and operational best practice within a cleaning or FM setting
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to day-to-day operational demands
