About the Role

Join us as a Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) at HMP Isle of Wight, where you will have the opportunity to make a tangible difference within the prison healthcare system. This is a full-time, ongoing role with working hours from 08:00–16:00 or 09:00–17:00, offering the ideal balance between professional growth and personal well-being.

You’ll play a pivotal role in providing high-quality mental health care, supporting individuals with complex needs in a secure and dynamic environment. This position is ideal for an experienced RMN with prison clearance who thrives in challenging yet rewarding settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload, conducting comprehensive assessments, care planning, and interventions for prisoners with mental health needs.

• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic care and promote positive mental health within the prison environment.

• Carry out risk assessments and provide professional advice, guidance, and decision-making support.

• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective communication and continuity of care.

• Safely manage and administer medications, adhering to clinical and security protocols.

• Maintain accurate records in compliance with professional and organisational standards.
