As an Educational Psychologist, you will provide assessments, interventions, and guidance to children, families, and schools, collaborating with a wide range of professionals to ensure children’s needs are fully supported.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough psychological assessments within educational settings to identify the needs of children and young people.

  • Develop and provide evidence-based interventions and advice to children, families, and school staff.

  • Support schools in designing and implementing strategies for children with special educational needs (SEN) or additional learning challenges.

  • Collaborate with teachers, social workers, and healthcare professionals to create comprehensive support plans.

  • Deliver consultation and bespoke training sessions to school staff on child development, learning, and behaviour management.

  • Prepare detailed reports and contribute to statutory assessments, including Education, Health, and Care (EHC) plans.

  • Contribute to continuous service development and improvement within the Educational Psychology Service.

  • Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all children and young people is prioritised.


Person Specification / Essential Criteria

  • Qualified Educational Psychologist with HCPC registration.

  • Relevant experience working with children and young people in educational settings.

  • Strong knowledge of SEN, child development, and evidence-based psychological interventions.

  • Excellent communication, report-writing, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within multi-agency teams.

  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
