The Role – Psychology Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Full-time, long-term position starting immediately
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with complex needs
  • Assist with emotional regulation, communication, and social skills development
  • Support pupils during lessons and help adapt learning materials to meet their individual needs
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to implement personalised support plans
  • Help create a calm, structured, and engaging classroom environment where every student can thrive

Person Specification

  • A 2:1 degree or above in Psychology (or a related subject)
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or autism (desirable but not essential)
  • A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting students with additional needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine passion for SEN education, mental health, and child development
