Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist - SEND (Children & Adolescents) Team
Location: Poole, Dorset
Salary: Up to £40 per hour (dependent on experience)
Contract: Locum, 3 months, Monday to Friday, Full time, Term-time only

What you will do:
- Deliver high-quality 1:1 and group speech and language therapy to children and young people aged 4 to 19.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate therapy programmes tailored to individual communication needs.
- Support students with autism, a range of syndromes, and varying levels of communication abilities.
- Use and promote Makaton, social thinking programmes, and other communication strategies to enhance engagement and interaction.
- communication groups focusing on social communication, interaction, and functional language skills.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and the wider multidisciplinary team to support learning and participation.
- Maintain accurate records, contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), and provide professional reports and recommendations.
- Participate in staff training and provide guidance to support communication strategies across the setting.
Requirements:
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent.
- HCPC registration and membership with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND, including autism spectrum conditions.
- Confident in using Makaton and running social communication groups.
- Strong communication, teamworking, and organisational skills.
