Civil Engineer – Flexible Location
Location: Flexible – Offices available in Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, Cardiff, or Birmingham
Contract Type: Temporary (6-month initial contract)
Engagement Type: Umbrella
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working Arrangements: Hybrid (minimum 3 days in-office)
Rate: Competitive – Negotiable based on experience

Expenses: Travel to/from project sites reimbursed
About the Role
We are currently seeking a talented and practically minded Civil Engineer to support a range of exciting and unique design and construction projects across the UK and overseas. This role sits within a growing Civil Engineering team in the Building Design sector, working on small to medium infrastructure projects – not including large-scale highways, rail, or utilities schemes.
This is a hybrid role with flexibility to be based at any of our office locations listed above.
Key Responsibilities

Contribute to the delivery of small to medium-sized infrastructure projects

Produce civil engineering designs in accordance with relevant standards and codes

Deliver efficient and high-quality engineering services

Manage your time effectively across multiple projects

Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment

Follow quality and technical assurance procedures

Work in compliance with BIM standards and the Digital Plan of Work
Essential Skills & Experience
-
5+ years of experience in civil engineering
-
Background in the building sector
-
Experience in drainage design and analysis
-
Proficiency in InfoDrainage or Flow, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D
-
Experience in roads and car park design
-
Honours Degree in Civil Engineering (preferred) or HND with equivalent experience

Working towards ICE chartership
-
Strong communication and technical report writing skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Familiarity with current UK design standards and working practices
Desirable

Experience dealing with statutory approvals and regulators

Previous experience on small-scale building projects

Knowledge of Revit and BIM 360
-
Chartered with ICE

Holds a UK driving licence

Eligible for SC security clearance (proof of 5+ years UK residency may be required)

Security Clearance
