What you will do:
- Carry out specialist Occupational Therapy assessments for children with diverse presentations to identify barriers to engagement in education or daily activities.
- Develop goals and individualized intervention programmes, integrating them into the broader education, health, and care plans (EHCP).
- Model standards of best practice aligned with the RCOT code of conduct and HCPC standards, ensuring clinical governance across professional activities.
- Make informed decisions about interventions, blending evidence-based research with practice considering historical and developmental factors affecting clients and families.
- Formulate and implement specialist intervention plans, utilizing sound OT understanding and evidence-based practice.
- Manage your own caseload with a mix of independent and group assessments and interventions, under the guidance of a clinical supervisor or lead.
- Participate in baseline screenings of new admissions, offering vital feedback to the clinical team.
- Contribute to ongoing monitoring and risk assessment for clients within your caseload.
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:
- Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
- Recent UK experience working as an Occupational Therapist, preferably within the NHS.
- Current registration with the HCPC.
