A welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from October 2025 through to July 2026. This is a brilliant opportunity to gain practical, school-based experience while supporting students’ learning across core subjects.

The Role – Graduate Secondary Teaching Assistant

In this role, you will:

Support teachers in the delivery of lessons, particularly in Maths, English, and Science
Work with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to boost understanding and engagement
Assist with classroom organisation, lesson preparation, and behaviour management
Provide tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Help create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment for all students
Build valuable experience that supports future teacher training applications

Who We're Looking For

We’d love to hear from graduates who:

Hold (or are expecting) a 2:1 degree or above in a core subject such as English, Maths, or Science
Are passionate about working with young people and making a positive impact in the classroom
Have strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
Are proactive, patient, and eager to learn
Are available full-time from October 2025 to July 2026
Have some experience working with young people (formal or informal), although this is not essential
