Your Role as a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

In this role, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs

  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and the school SENCO to differentiate resources and activities

  • Support children’s emotional wellbeing by building positive, trusting relationships

  • Assist in tracking progress and planning targeted interventions

  • Help create an encouraging environment that promotes independence, confidence, and a love of learning

This role is ideal for graduates who:

  • Hold a 2:1 degree or above in Psychology, Education, English, Maths, or a related field

  • Are genuinely passionate about supporting children with additional needs

  • Are calm, patient, and empathetic in their approach

  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills

  • May have previous experience working with children or young people (e.g. mentoring, tutoring, youth work, or volunteering)
