Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant: You Role

  • Support the class teacher in creating engaging and interactive lessons across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to help children boost confidence in reading, writing, and maths
  • Assist with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and creative resources
  • Encourage children to develop social skills, independence, and a love for learning
  • Take part in story time, playtime supervision, and school activities, becoming a trusted and positive role model
  • Track pupil progress and offer gentle guidance to help every child achieve their potential

Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant: Candidate Specification

  • A recent graduate with a 2:1 or higher in Education, Psychology, English, STEM or a related subject
  • Passionate about working with children and making learning enjoyable and exciting
  • Positive, enthusiastic, and full of energy
  • A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Patient, caring, and resilient, with a genuine interest in education and child development
  • Ideally has experience working with pupils through mentoring, tutoring or Summer camp work
  • Considering a future career in teaching or educational psychology
