Social Worker in Support and Safeguarding Team – Salisbury
We are looking for an exceptional Social Worker to join the North Support and Safeguarding Service in Salisbury. This ongoing contract offers a competitive hourly rate of £35 to £40 per hour, depending on your experience. As a Social Worker within our team, you'll play a vital role in supporting children, young people, and their families on their journey from early help to permanence. About the team:
The North Support and Safeguarding Service is dedicated to helping children and families thrive. Our permanent management structure is led by a Team Manager and supported by Assistant Team Managers who provide reflective, open, and strength-based supervision. You will benefit from multi-disciplinary team support, working closely with key workers and practitioner support staff to manage your caseload efficiently.
About the role:
We aim to be a progressive, learning organisation where both staff and families succeed. You will handle a variety of cases, from initial referrals and assessments to guiding families through Child in Need and Child Protection plans. The continuity of care model means you can focus on building long-term supportive relationships with the families you help.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
To apply, you must hold a degree in social work or equivalent, have current registration with Social Work England, and demonstrate significant frontline experience within UK Social Services. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in referral and assessment casework, and possess the ability to manage Child in Need and Child Protection plans.
What you will do:
- Lead referral and assessment casework with families.
- Develop and manage Child in Need and Child Protection plans.
- Work closely with families and multi-disciplinary colleagues to achieve permanence for children.
- Participate in legal processes to support the stability and welfare of young persons where necessary.
- Engage in continual learning and development opportunities.
