The Vacancy:
We are on the lookout for a skilled Qualified Children's Social Worker to join our Private Law team in West Yorkshire. Although based in Leeds, there is room for flexible and remote work, so your physical proximity to the office isn't always necessary. Family Court Advisers play a crucial role when courts need to determine child arrangements. You'll be engaged in assessing and working directly with children, ensuring their voices are heard and advocated for in the courts. Your expertise in risk assessment and mediation will be pivotal as you aim to secure the best outcomes for children.
What you will do:
- Conduct assessments for the court, directly engaging with children to understand their perspectives.
- Prepare detailed written reports and present evidence in court to advocate for child welfare.
- Mediate between families to facilitate agreements in the children's best interests.
- Perform thorough risk assessments to guide welfare decisions.
- Work collaboratively with other social workers and legal professionals, remaining a reliable source of child-centered insights.
