We are thrilled to present an exciting 3-month locum opportunity for a Band 6 Paediatric Nurse or Special School Nurse in the heart of Redbridge, offering a competitive hourly rate. In this role, you will find the perfect balance of challenge and fulfilment, working full-time from Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00, as part of a dynamic Specialist School and Complex Needs Nursing Team.

What you will do:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to children with additional and complex health needs in a school setting.
  • Write and review CPYP health care plans, ensuring that each child's specific health needs are effectively met at school.
  • Work autonomously while being an integral part of the Specialist School and Complex Needs Nursing Team.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic support for children's health and wellbeing.
  • Offer training to school staff, equipping them with the skills needed to safely manage children's health concerns.
  • Safeguard children's health and welfare through comprehensive and thorough care practices.
  • Utilise IT skills to maintain accurate health records and documentation.

Requirements:

  • NMC Registered
  • Prior UK nursing experience
  • Experienced paediatric nurse with a background in managing children with additional or complex health needs
  • Proficient in autonomous working
  • Capable of delivering training to staff
  • Experienced in writing and reviewing health care plans
  • Proficient in working in school or community settings
  • Experienced in multi-disciplinary working
  • Knowledgeable in safeguarding practices
  • Adequately skilled in IT
