Our fine art shipping and removals client is currently looking for an experienced Air Freight Import & Export Operator, to join their team in London.
As Air Freight Import & Export Operator, a typical day will involve managing and administering all processes for exports, including exhibition, and when applicable coordinating exhibition imports. You will work within the Shipping Team and be responsible for developing and improving ambitions.
Air Freight Import & Export Operator duties include:
- Keeping up-to-date with HMRC and other legislation, as well as company procedures, to complete all necessary documentation and keep all records accurately.
- Ensuring all practical arrangements for export and import shipments are made; liaising with clients, working with transport, packing and storage departments to this end.
- Completing Export and Import documentation for airfreight, sea freight and exhibition shipments.
- Ensuring all quotations are made within a timely manner.
- Ensuring all shipments are invoiced in timely manner.
- Liaising with clients to keep them informed as to all stages of their shipments, and receive all relevant copy documentation.
- Overseeing other aspects of shipping processes including; local / storage / import work, where necessary.
- Attending operations meetings.
- Maintaining and updating internal company shared documents covering all imports.
- Comply with the requirements within the company's staff operations handbook and quality management system.
- Arranging collections and deliveries with the client in consultation with the transport manager and make practical arrangements directly with our clients to ensure smooth collections and deliveries as required.
- Arranging packing as required in a suitable manner, supplying packing room department with full packing sheets and relevant information.
We're keen to speak to import/export professionals from a shipping/forwarding/transportation background, who have experience dealing with airfreight. Experience is EU road freight would also be a distinct advantage.
The successful Air Freight Import & Export Operator will be offered up to £35,000, in line with skills and experience.
