Locum Social Worker – Safeguarding Team, Tameside: £39 Hourly – Ongoing, Full-time
Here’s an exciting opportunity to work as a Locum Social Worker within the Safeguarding Team in Tameside, where you will manage Child in Need, Child Protection, pre-proceedings, and Court matters. This role is office-based with some flexibility for home working arrangements, agreed upon with the Team Manager. You’ll be working full-time, ideally spreading your contracted hours over 5 days.

What you will do:

Conduct thorough assessments of children in need, including those requiring protection and care.

Coordinate service provision to ensure all needs of the children are met effectively.

Perform reviews and statutory visits as per the outlined statutory and service procedures.

Engage in direct work with children and families to address their assessed needs.

Honour and support the identity and individual needs of children based on their cultural, religious, and linguistic backgrounds.

Build meaningful, cooperative relationships with parents, carers, and children, promoting their active involvement in meeting the children's needs.

Partner with parents and carers to develop their skills, ensuring the best outcomes for the children.

Collaborate with colleagues and other agencies on cases as necessary.

Adhere to statutory regulations and uphold the Professional Registration Standards by Social Work England.

Present information effectively to Panels, the Court, and other agencies.

Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with other professionals involved.

Actively participate in supervision sessions and engage in required training to pursue Continuous Professional Development.

Contribute to policy development and service evaluation, ensuring alignment with Council standards.
