What you will do:

  • Lead and manage a team supporting care leavers aged 16+, guiding both Personal Advisors and Social Workers.

  • Ensure access to stable accommodation and support services for young people transitioning from care.

  • Champion therapeutic, relational, and strengths-based practices in transition planning and independent living.

  • Shape policy and practice aligned with the Children & Social Work Act 2017 and other statutory duties.

  • Collaborate within a corporate parenting model, working across housing, health, education, and safeguarding sectors.

  • Drive performance and ensure quality standards in accordance with Ofsted and local authority expectations.

  • Provide inspirational leadership through recruitment, supervision, case oversight, and exemplary practice promotion.


Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.

  • Leadership or management training is required.

  • Strong experience in children’s social care, with a focus on care leavers, safeguarding, and placement services.

  • Proven leadership and team development skills, with the ability to foster partnerships across agencies.

  • A values-driven approach that embraces young-person-centred, trauma-informed, and contextually aware practice.

  • Experience in performance and change management in complex environments.
