What you will do:
- Provide high-quality social work practice to improve outcomes for children and families.
- Ensure that work reflects our Team Wigan behaviours and practice standards, embedding the Family Safeguarding model.
- Identify strengths, vulnerabilities, and attitudes towards change to help keep children, young people, and families healthy, happy, and safe.
- Deliver child-focused assessments that clearly articulate the child's voice and ensure these are reviewed regularly.
- Manage a complex caseload, performing direct work with children and their families to address individual needs and reduce harm.
- Collaborate effectively with partners such as Early Help and Prevention, education services, police, and the NHS.
- Maintain up-to-date, detailed, and accurate records using Liquid Logic and other tools, ensuring they remain purposeful and jargon-free.
- Attend court proceedings as necessary.
- Contribute to the development of services for children and their families.
- Embrace opportunities for learning, growth, and career development in social work.
- Uphold social care standards as outlined by Social Work England and maintain your registration in accordance with statutory regulations.
- Operate within the guidelines of GDPR, ensuring data is reviewed and disposed of according to retention schedules.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- A degree or equivalent in social work.
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Significant frontline experience in UK Social Services as a qualified Social Worker is essential.
