What you will do:
- Lead the department in quality management, acting as an expert resource for other departments on quality management systems.
- Establish, implement, and enhance the quality management systems to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop a structured document control system and write comprehensive policies and protocols.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives and chair the Pathology Quality Group.
- Perform regular audits on performance management standards, such as turnaround times, and report findings for continual improvement.
- Monitor key performance indicators for the Pathology Quality Management System.
- Raise user awareness within the department and ensure nonconformities are recorded and resolved efficiently.
- Ensure preventive actions are implemented to manage potential nonconformities and contribute to the Pathology Quality Assurance Database.
- Support departments in maintaining accreditation to UKAS ISO: 15189 and provide training on all aspects of the Quality Management System.
- Implement competency assessments for staff in relation to Quality Management System tasks.
To thrive in this role, you will have an HCPC registration with at least two years of experience in quality management within pathology. Although a driving licence would be advantageous, it is not mandatory.
